    keraflex maxi

Hi guys. On the Mapei Keraflex Maxi data sheet it says 24 hours light foot traffic and 14 days ready to use. Does it mean that i can walk in my bathroom only after 14 days? If so, do you know any addy which is S1, quite a long open time ( as i have never tiled before) and short ready to use...

    latex over plywood

Hi tictic and thanks for your input. What is an insulation board you just mentioned? After the several pieces of advice i have received, i am tempted to ditch the little sheet of ply that is screwed down on to the concrete and after using a dehumidifier i would use some liquid dpm as i do not...

Hi prceramics. Is Ardex latex slc application ready to be tiled in 24 hours even after applying it 25-28mm thick? Thanks for answering.

    latex over plywood

Hi prceramics. The reason why i want to make the height with plywood instead of with slc is to reduce dry off time. I suppose a 25mm thick pour of slc is going to take approx 10 days to dry before i can tile over it.....unless you are aware of a latex slc which sets quite quickly even if laid...

    latex over plywood

Hi guys. I will redo my bathroom in a few months time ( floor tiles down) and in my previous thread i was made aware of the problem when two different floor substrates join up ( in my case the substrate is concrete with a 25mm step and to make up that 25mm difference in height, a 25mm thick...

    mapei

Hi Richard and thanks again for throwing in the possible options. How much would a sheet of 0.8m of plywood be able to expand? If it is not much, don't you think the uncoupling membrane will take care of that little movement? At the end of the day, it is designed to do that kind of...

    mapei

Hi Richard and thanks for the link. My bathroom is a total of 3.5m ( length) by 1.8m ( width). The whole area is concrete apart from the last 0.8m by 1.8m which has a 25mm plywood sheet screwed onto a concrete slab to bring it even with the rest of the concrete floor. 1)The fact that the...

    mapei

hi Richard and thanks a lot for the reply. The ply is fixed to a concrete slab and i can not level the whole floor off as i do not have much time to wait for it to go off. I will make enquiries about a Mapei suitable product otherwise could you advice me on a Bal product suitable for the...

    mapei

hi Richard and thanks for the reply. The bathtub goes against two walls: one is plastered and the other is a stud wall. The wife wants to go for mosaics. The floor as mentioned before is partly concrete and partly ply, the tiles will most probably be white and not too big as big tiles will make...

    mapei

Hi guys. I have seen on the web that a 20 kg bag Keraflex Maxi Mapei cost 20 pounds plus vat. 1) is it reasonable price? 2) Is it suitable for floors and walls..... on the website they say: -suitability: walls -area of use: walls, floors 3) also on the bag it says: 3.15mm bed...

    starting adjacent wall

Hi tpt thanks for your time. Is it acceptable to end up, for example, with a cut of 30 mm. on one wall and a cut of for example of 50 mm on the adjacent wall joining the 30mm cut tile? Wouldn't it be better to stick a full tile next to the 30mm. tile? Thank you for your advice

    starting adjacent wall

Hi all. If you cannot finish a wall with a full tile and say you finish it with a 1/4 of a tile, would you start the adjacent wall ( being it external or internal corner) with the remaining cut of the previous tile ( 3/4) or with a full tile? or would i have to start the adjacent wall from the...
