    Filling loop and pressure reducing valve

    If you want to fill your heating system from the inside all you need is a filling loop, T into cold mains, T in heating return, then fit the filling kit between them. Also add a pressure guage so you can see what your doing.

    I would replace the TRV then you know its closed properly then add a blanking off cap. Then when the room gets to temp the TRV will close as its ment to then shut off the heat to the room.

    I would replace the pipe through the wall, might save on taking the toilet out when/if it starts leaking. I know its more money but i would feel better if it was my house knowing its done.

    If the ball valve is filling the tank and the level is not getting higher, the rate the water is flowing into the tank is there abouts the rate that its leaking out somewhere. Powerflushes can cause leaks but it could of just failed too, hard to tell till you expose the pipe and have a look...

    My 2p's worth. I would go with stored hot water maybe unvented system, with each floor having its own two port valve with programable room stat to control each floor. Simple.

    The front has to be taken off to access the reset button. Possible it has overheated if it has been used with no water in it.

    What lockout light are you gettin on the boiler? The micron will tell you why it has locked out by the lights that flash in what order, refer then to the MI's to find why its locking out. PCB's are poo on the micron as are the thermistors. First thing check the lockout light for its reason!

    Some PCB's require the burner pressure setting up which would require a gas safe engineer.

    No offence taken as i know nothing at all about any of this process. The extension in building is about 30 sq meters (18 downstairs 12 upstairs). I have full plans detialing all parts of the extension, i will also be getting the calculations from the structural engineer for the RSJ's etc...
