it is definatley not the floorboards. If someone bounces the floor in the bedroom the ceiling downstairs can be seen to move as well.

    Bedroom Floor "bouncing"

One of the bedrooms in my property seems to have a bit of bounce in the floor. The room is approx 4m by 2.5m Across the 2.5m nearly every joist has been notched to allow the pipes from the combi boiler (in airing cupboard) to be run around the property. I am thinking that this has lest...

    Water under floor

Thanks for all your replies. I think i will try the pump thing. Just going to monitor it for a couple of weeks first though to make sure it is just the water table. We have not had any raid for a week now so will check under the floor to see if there is any difference with the amount of...

    Water under floor

I never said i noticed it before i bought the house. I spent about £400-500 on a surveyors report. It wasn't your basic "valuation" it was what was called a "homebuyers report" and was not done by the building society. The loft space was inspected during the survey but in the survey it says...

    Water under floor

if i dig a hole does it need to be as big as the puddle is?? The worst affected bit under my floor is probably a few feet wide by maybe 6 feet long. Do i need to dig down this entire area? Or just in the middle of it? Are these sump pimps noisy? How is the pump held in place? Thanks

    Water under floor

i think to cure the cause totally would probably mean excavating almost the entire sub floor area of my property and unfortunatley i just do not have the funds to undertake something like that. If this problem is caused by a high water table under my property i don't see that there...

    Water under floor

I think it probably has done it for a while. The house is 45 - 50 years old. I am going to make sure all my airbricks are clear for sure. Like i said the area to the rear of my garden it is like a mini lake after we have had rain. This usually takes several days if not longer to drain away...

    Water under floor

from what i have seen under the floor i think it maybe that the house is on a "low lying" bit of ground. Can't see any evidence of where the water may have got in but when it has poured down the area to the rear of my garden is usually "flooded" for a few days til it drains away. Would it...

    Sloping floors

I have given this method some thought. It does however seem like quite a lot of work. Also i have noticed that some of the interior brick walls in my house are built directly on top of the floor boards. I think this is what has helped cause the slope in the first place.

    Sloping floors

Hello, i am new to this forum but hoping some of you guys can give me some advice. The problem is this, pretty much all the floors on the upstairs of my property have some sort of slope. Some are more noticable than others. This was picked up on the survey of the property before we purchased...
