straight swap mains downlight for rose?

it was too close - I used a barbeque skewer twisted which I tried to turn 360 degrees to check, and the location was a pantry measuring only 1m x 2m so moving it was not really an option - decided to go and simply get the flattest £4.99 pendant I could instead. Downlight sitting in the box, one...

straight swap mains downlight for rose?

Hi all I have 1xmains halogen and want to replace one pendant ceiling fitting on a 6a protected light circuit, which has little to any load on it. Also only two cables coming in, so guessing it's a spur/ end of circuit and one of these two cables is to the switch but cabling does not make...

Who is at fault? Magnet at fault or Me - thoughts please!!

Are you sure? If it was leaking when they fitted the kitchen, surely the would of had to have said - onone in right mind would then hide a known leaking stopcock. If it was not leaking when they fitted, they are at fault, as negligent to hide a stopcock. ?

Who is at fault? Magnet at fault or Me - thoughts please!!

Do you think then I should be NICE to Magnet, until they give me a quote, then mention I think they are at fault? I have talked to my insurance today, and as there is a £400 excess for water damage, it seemed better to talk to Magnet first to save me that money. If you think its pointless...

Who is at fault? Magnet at fault or Me - thoughts please!!

Hi all A Hot water stopcock has caused damage in the kitchen - the question here is fault, and what I should do next, bar getting a plumber to fix the stopcock damage itself. I noticed today at the bottom of the corner kitchen unit (fitted in 2002, with 15 parts guarantee), a bit of rotten...

Hello I have seen partially similar posts, so apologies if this is painful repeat. My internal garage cement floor is 170mm below existing rest of house ground floor base. AND That current garage slab height to start of RSJ spanning the garage doors is 2020mm. Problem - putting in new...

Hi I had a quote to build a 18m long by 1.5m high wood sleeper retaining wall, with also the moving of existing elevated soil area over a 180m2 area to flatten out the plot, and leave topsoil on top. It did not seem that complicated from what I read here, yet quote came in at 4k - that...

hello Just taken and uploaded a photo of the back wall in question (same link as above) . Photo shows majority of the house and the rough percentage of the wall that has issues. The trees on the right, are similar to what was also on the left until they were removed, hence the dirty line...

Hello All One side of the two storey 1780 stables I am in (converted in 1971), which has mainly lime/morter, had some render on it between 1971 and 2000 - aka a long time ago. I am relatively confident not subsidence, more its a moving house (the lime bit above), and with this side of the...
