cos sometimes a bit still gets through

i know but sometimes you get a dribble through the wing holes especially if you overitghten the wing nuts! so a turn or 2 of ptfe helps!

sorry mate I meant leaks through plate type - I usually wind ptfe around washers to prevent the dribble! I liked your idea of silicone through cistern type though. What do you do for leaks / dribbles through the plate/bracket type?

the wing nut pulls cistern to pan - but sometimes you get a small drip through the holes so i usually winf a few turns of ptfe thru the washer to prevent it

Sorry to interrupt post but I have had toielts leaking from wing nut holes in cistern with brakcet as shown above - not always donut washer that causes it but the rubber washer over wing nut holes - wrap ptfe around washer and donb't over tighten !

thanks for your replies basically i wondered how the condensate from the flue got into the sump - does a pipe/tube link it to it or does it just fall into it??

With boilers now having to be condensing - how does the condensate get drained away via the white plastic pipe? does it fall into a container inside the boiler from the flue? ..... I was curious how they got rid of it. Would anyone be so kind as to briefly explain please?! Many thanks

do you have the boiler manual it may say in there? does that boiler/model have a zero pressure type gas valve? i'm not a gas engineer btw
