    Adding pressure Worcester 30i combi

Hi, my parents have moved house and we firstly thought the key was missing to add pressure to the boiler. However I know understand it to be the case the blue lever should add pressure. Weeks ago I tried the blue lever. A slight (very small) hiss was heard when first pulling the lever down but...

    Wiring Salus room thermostat

My father got an RT310 to replace a faulty RT300. The 300 has just two terminals/two pins. The connected wirees are marked “L” and “SL” on the backplate. Salus themselves said to me it’d be easy to change but I’m puzzled by it and don’t want to do anything wrong. Can anyone advise? I believe...

Packing for under ply on worn stone stairs

Thanks v much for the replies. I stuck with the packers and screwing down well. Still got first 5 steps to do, where the stairs turn so trickier shapes. I’m 90% happy with how they are but under the very leading edge of each step could do with a bit extra support. I think I will need to use...

Packing for under ply on worn stone stairs

The gaps are up to about 5-6mm max, Is gripfill quite a good bet? I'm happy to still go with packers but wouldn't mind using something like that too.

Packing for under ply on worn stone stairs

Did wonder if a foam might do it, thanks. the gripper can be screwed to the ply easily enough. It was previously screwed and looked like on with some sort of no nails.

Packing for under ply on worn stone stairs

Thanks. Tbh I don’t really want to screed it. main reason for posting was wondering if any products out there (likes of something dispensed with silicone gun) that I could use that should offer extra support under the ply/filling any gaps I’ve got quite a good rounded edge on the edges of the ply

Packing for under ply on worn stone stairs

Do you reckon? I did consider it but in the situation I can see it running down the stairs. Also whenever I’ve come across it over the years (when other people have obviously used it) it always seem to be broken up into a million pieces

Packing for under ply on worn stone stairs

Due to having to shape and cut the ply on the first 5 stairs (where stairs turn) I opted just to use 12mm ply to overlay the old, worn stone stairs. It’s getting done just to be better for new carpeting. Is there anything that can be dispensed (ie from a sealant gun/spray foam( that would...

Instant hot water tap for bathroom

Thanks for posting the video. I imagine a lot of mixer taps do use M10 flexi’s.. possibly not easy to find ones that don’t?

Instant hot water tap for bathroom

Cheers for thoughts on it. I’m going to experiment with it a bit myself. My folks said the (mixer) shower in the room heats quickly but tbh its over the other side of the biggish bathroom and could be on a faster route from the boiler. A combi shouldn’t be too sensitive to water flow, as in it...

Instant hot water tap for bathroom

Only a 12 yr old house but 7 years ago the combi seemingly replaced a Glen.. something (Glenham/Glenfield? Seemingly still make water cylinders but not so much boilers..) all in one boiler with tank incorporated into it. The boiler isn’t actually very far away from the bathroom but there are...

Instant hot water tap for bathroom

Thanks for replies at present there are waterfall type taps in the bathroom. I wonder if they have a poor flow rate, hence slowing up delivery of hot water? What’s the regs on likes of the Ariston as far as expansion/blow off? Can a discharge pipe go into the basin waste?

Instant hot water tap for bathroom

My mother is disappointed with how long thier Combi is taking to supply hot water to bathroom sink. They’re planning a new vanity unit/cupboard soon so asked me my thoughts. I see some instant HW kitchen (3 in 1) taps that’d probably look ok at a bathroom sink. I don’t entirely understand why...

Much point in removing a leaky shower valve to get a fix?

Thanks for the guidance. I’m thinking may well be worth a go. Yes, looks as though the cartridge is in a few bits. I’m amazed there aren’t kits selling “O” rings to help people do this. I’ll probably try next week.

Much point in removing a leaky shower valve to get a fix?

I've a 2015 Triton Dart eco. It's leaking water when off and a bit stiff to turn on/off Looks like I can (just..) get a spare cartridge at £130.00. Are the chances slim of any stripping/cleaning/greasing etc fixing it? Can't say I've ever disassembled one but if I take my time I imagine I...

    Pneumatic flush valve sticking

Ok, thanks. It was frustrating that none of the same cistern for sale had likes of attached pdf of the instructions for it.
