I've got a complaint with my new motor already!

I did some work on a very tragic fatal accident where the same thing had happened. Old guy changed cars. New one had a very different pedal offset to his previous car. Came up to a T junction, pushed the brake pedal to the floor, thinking it was the clutch, and an artic went into the back of...

I've got a complaint with my new motor already!

It'll be second nature by the end of the month. I have the opposite problem when I get in my old Alfa, but the other way round and sometimes forget to put the handbrake on / take it off!

Might work better with a load of weight in the back? Rears don't do much work when lightly laden.

I've got a complaint with my new motor already!

Have a look through the papers that came with the car. There should be a single A4 sheet called a "Certificate of Conformity" in amongst them. It will have loads of data about your particular car on it and is a valuable document. Field 0.11 will give the date of manufacture of the vehicle, so...

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Well you certainly seem to be making an assumption that suits your narrative! All I did was to point out that your assumption is based on their being at least 10 petrol pumps per station... And, of course, what you need to remember, is that EVs don't suffer the same restrictions as ICEs when...

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Every petrol station in the country would need ten pumps just to give the same number of "nozzles" as "plugs". Do you really think that's the case?

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Oh that takes me back! What a pain that was! It's cold and dark, the rain is pi55ing down. You're knackered after a long day's work. You fight your way round the supermarket, load the shopping in the car. FINALLY, that comfy sofa and can of beer is almost within reach... ...and then you...

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Mine's a bit like that, except I can start off with an absolutely full tank of fuel from my front door every trip, if I so choose. If it happens to run low, I have about 80,000 public chargers to choose from, compared to only about 8000 petrol stations...:) Once you get used to the idea that...

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Not really. I just plug the car in and leave a computer to sort out putting in about £3 or so of electricity to do the same sort of distance. Of course, for people who are not very good with computers and generally scared of modern technology, I guess it might sound really daunting... ;)

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

:ROFLMAO: No, but this time you said "feasible"...;)

    How... exactly?

You sure it was Avocet...? ;)

    What van to buy.

    Sorry to hear it.

    What van to buy.

A Reliant Rebel was my first car! Way more expensive than the three-legged ones on tyres, but definitely worth it, I reckoned... ;)

    Turbos on 1 litre engines

    Like Post #54, you mean...?:ROFLMAO:

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Fair enough. Does sound like quite a palaver though!

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Not a very efficient way of doing it, as (even the ones with vehicle-to-load) capability are only a couple of kW output, but yes, in more general terms, the batteries from scrap EVs are already sought-after as storage units.

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Blimey! Who was that with?! I'm with Octopus and I didn't have to do any of that. I chose to tell them what kind of car I had (no identifying information, just that it was a BMW i4) so that it (and the charger) could talk to their servers and schedule charging for when the grid output was at its...

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Ah... but what if I haven't had my Covid vaccine? What then huh? ...

What vehicle(s) do you drive on a regular basis?

Oh dear... A smart meter can tell what power is being drawn and when. It hasn't got a clue whether it's my shower or my EV charger as they both pull about the same current. HMRC could probably take an educated guess that I'm not going to be showering at 02.00 so it's more likely to be...
