    Boiler & Wireless Thermostat problems

Sorry I probably should have stressed; when I'm trying to relink them I put the thermostat right next to it and it doesn't pick it up :(

    Boiler & Wireless Thermostat problems

Greetings all, I have a Potterton Promax Combi HE Plus (33 HE A) and a Potterton Famoso 601 RF Wireless thermostat. The boiler is currently flashing battery low/empty, I have obviously changed the batteries in the thermostat and followed the "recommisioning/linking" process, however the...

Brown patches round edge of Lawn?

Well, its soil mixed with a sprinkling of sharp sand methinks, more soil than sand. I gave it a raking and then yes basically, the rest of the lawn is in good condition if that makes a difference?

Brown patches round edge of Lawn?

nah no dept to the concrete really, it's just like a long "plank" so to speak. There was quite a lot of sand I suppose, it was all compressed and flat after five years of slabs on top so I raked it up a bit but didn't want to lose its "natural" flatness. Rake some of the thatch out...

Brown patches round edge of Lawn?

It is concrete edging, it can be removed really, I just left it as I thought it looked tidier. Not sure what concrete haunch is by the way :/ the top of the lawn had concrete like that too which I removed and it's also brownish like this although not quite as bad. I'll keep watering it...

Brown patches round edge of Lawn?

Greetings all, about three months ago now we (I  ) pulled up the slabs in the garden and had some turf layed for our daughter. It started off really healty and green, but its slowly gone downhill - I think my girlfriend was cutting it too short, plus she was using the grass bucket so...

    Running single cable from Socket?

Can anyone/someone that is a qualified electrician list reasons exactly why this is not safe, that might be the only way I can persuade my girlfriend to tell him not to do it. Cheers

    Running single cable from Socket?

Re; a hole - That was my first thought but there's all kinds of problems with that due to several internal "beams" for want of a better word. Ok, kit he has dropped off; 6 way individually switched ext lead - 13 amp cable & 13 amp fused plug (by the way it says on the back "do not...

    Running single cable from Socket?

Hmm, apparently he's not using a FCU, he;s just going to blank it off (and drill a hole in it..?) I'm slightly confused, although he did re-wire his whole house and it was signed off as perfect by a sparky so..? I'll post a photo as he's doing it tomorrow I think (I have little or no say...

    Running single cable from Socket?

It might be something along those lines, he just gave a brief overview and I did google to see if I could find any kind of products but since I don't have the specific terms I was shooting in the dark really.. Now I have the term FCU it sounds more like it - he did say it would be turned on and...

    Running single cable from Socket?

Greetings all, I'll try not to bore you with the details but I recently bought a new TV cabinet, all is good except it's that snug a fit in the alcove I can't plug anything in :| Now my great idea to get round this was to hack off (carefully of course..) the skirting board on the opposite...

    Leaking Toilet :(

Well, took it back off again. Removed the fixings, washers and rubber washer things and gave them a good clean and put them back on with a bit of sealant to help. Put the old donut back on since I've come to the conclusion I need a 120mm hex one (like...
