    Continuity of cpc's

Hello all. Can anyone clarify this for me? I’m using 1.5mm T&E and simply want to daisy chain 4 mains downlighters together without using a junction or choc box. How do I join cpc’s as there are only 2 terminals inside the downlight connector block…? Do I have to use a JB at each point...

    Old cables

Okie dokie, cheers. Was planning to rip out everything visible, but didn't fancy hacking walls to bits to pull out dead cables that are nowhere near new ones. Is there anything in the regs or OSG about it?

    Damp

Hello! Can anyone offer some advice on dealing with some damp? I live in a semi and the side of the house is damp (inside & out) from the ground up to about 300mm. The render outside has cracked so I chopped it all away to investigate. I discovered the old damp proof course in bits. (looks a...

    Drilling tiles

Get yourself a couple of 6mm tile drill bits. Mark your back box out and make several holes around your mark. (keep the drill bit wet) then carefully tap the piece of tile out. If it comes out in one piece then you get 1000 points! Take it slow otherwise you'll end up replacing the whole tile...

    Under patio wiring

Use SWA (armoured cable). like this http://www.toolstation.com/index.html?code=64330 It is meant to be buried at a depth of 500mm and covered with warning tape, but not sure if that's necessary as you're laying slabs over the top.

    JB / downlight fiasco

Can anyone clarify this for me? When daisy-chaining downlighters, I am aware that the junction box has to be both fixed securely AND accessible. Are both regulations compulsory? I ask because where my lights are positioned, there are no joists and the lights cannot be accessed from above, so is...
