hi guys. i am going to put in a outdoor socket coming off a spur witch is quite near were the socket is going to be placed. i was wondering wether the sockets still needs a rcd even if the socket is a rcd socket? and if it isn't a rcd socket than does it still need one if you use a plug in rcd...

:D good news i think :shock: lol i have just cut a RJ45 end off one of my leads(not the one i am planing to use) and punched it into a faceplate i have and then put it though the tester and its comes out positive:) (1-1 2-2 3-3 and so on) and i see what you ment mikey the strandard...

i am planing on keeping costs down for extras etc. so can i do all the wiring in the garden my self eg. putting floods in and outdoor sockets(cables will be in conduit! :roll: ) and then get a electrician to come and connect the lot to the main fuse box and test it all. or would he just make me...

can armoured cable be run on its own( no trunking etc..) underthe ground in soil ? this is to run power to a shed at the other end of the garden. is there any spec. cable what needs to be used for this? thanks

i was wondering wether i could move a ceiling rose in to the loft to supply a fixture witch only has l,n,e. instead of using a junction box? will this pass the part p tests? thanks
