    Lighting question

You also shouldnt be messing with kitchen or bathroom lights without understanding what you are doing due to part P (aswell as common sense). You might have left exposed cable ends, and this is extremely dangerous.

    Lighting question

lol get an electrician in to pole the cables and find out what goes where. Sounds like you might have some of it wired ins eries, hence the dimming lights.

    3 and earth

Depending on the lights, the ceiling roses are what the pendants have from. Newer, and fancy lights dont often have them, just choc blocks fitted inside.

    3 and earth

You need to sleeve the earths. You shouldnt have bare copper. This is probably the same at all your sockets, switches, and ceiling roses.

    Should I leave alone?

But its only a 60Amp Consumer unit. There for if you only have one ring final, you cant physically use Current to reach the 60Amps that the Consumer unit can take. Using 2 ring finals, means that you could. Thats all i was saying. Wasnt looking to de-rail the thread.

    Should I leave alone?

Overloading one 32Amp circuit as opposed to overloading two 32Amp circuits. 60Amp main fuse. Ok so in reality the main fuse can take a huge whack more, but with two ring finals at max capacity you will be over the limit.

    Cabling loads

Kitchens, bathrooms, gardens etc all fall under the new(ish) Part P regulation. This means that 'diyers' cant do the work themselves in these areas, without getting building control involved. To do the work yourself wouldnt be difficult at all, but complying with regualtions would be with...

    Ikea wall units

Those can hold 30kg, bringing your weight up to 50kg. Not sure what plasterboard walls can support, but it doesnt sound good to me. Whats behind the plasterboard, or is it a partition wall?

Flat Roof Estimate and possibly diy - it myself?

Cover over the roof with taurpaline for the time being, and get more quotes. If everyone comes back at 2800 then thats the going rate. (Just make sure it isnt the same guy quoting each time pretending to be from different companies! lol) I find dressing as an old man works well to get a...

    Simple Electric Question

In parallel the current splits, not the voltage. (voltage splits in series, eg xmas tree lights) If you are going to run a cable from the ceiling rose anyway, just run a twin and earth. Connect it into the live and neutral terminal of the existing light, and it will come on at the same time...

    Simple Electric Question

Took a while, but i edited yours to show how it would be done Thats with one switch per light. If you want one switch to operate both lights, then put the switch in before the split.
