Garden gnomes can walk along the 12v cable, insulating them from everything whilst they chew through your mains voltage cables. The gnomes are only a few inches tall though, so keeping a gap between them will stop any toothy shenanigans.

No dont use your normal hoover or you may have to dispose of it too. You can also buy special filters for hoovering asbestos, as i think most hoover filters wont catch it all.

Is there any risk of damage to the cable? How long is the cable run? What size breakers did you install? Has the garage got the power to run both of them?

Have you thought about running it along the fence? It wont look too pretty, so maybe run it a few inches down from the top, and put some kind of fancy wood covering over it. Not sure how it stands with the regs, no doubt someone will see this and fill in the blanks

Yeah big sparks one is a good link, decent price too. Its the unit i use, if the stuff is all laid out in front of you, you could cope with hundreds of tests in a day. Dont bother with the barcode reader, but the barcode printer is a nice tool. Works out to around 20p a label though iirc...

If all else fails, pop down the plumbers with the pole and get a brass munzen ring that fits it, or silver coloured etc (whatever blends in) a length of stud, and a thingy (cant remember the name but the stud will screw into it, and its got two holes for screws so you could secure it to the top...
