Now I understand. The curved copper pipe is not leaking water. When cold, I set the pressure to 1.2 bar. Now it has been running for 10 minutes, it's at .9 bar. I expect it to drop further & stop the heating process.

You suggested I shut them, which is what I did. When I opened them, the pump ran for 2 or 3 seconds. I didn't run the hot water with the valves closed - I just assumed with no pump in the circuit I'd be back to low pressure or none at all. Sorry for the confusion.

I isolated those valves & the problem went away. Trouble is, so did my hot water supply.
