BC will probably want to see an engineer's report. If I do need such an opinion what kind of person am I looking for, preferably not too expensive and willing to just have a look and do quick letter or email?

The roof designer did know there is a door. The same one on site is shown on the plan of my extension which they used to design the roof. What sort of engineer do i need to engage to have a look at this and advise if it is safe or not? Likely cost?

So will the air flow in your case be over the ply boards you've put in? Presumably can't get under them if the roof insulation is touching the ply.

Thanks. Builder has returned with the plastic roll tray stuff and it is a joke. Extremely flimsy. So the rood insulation is just going to push it up to the felt and probably close all the gaps.

So what is the minimum air gap required over the wall plate between soffit vents and loft space? I will get the builder to put these ventilation trays in and we will just have to put as much insulation over the wall plate as will fit in the small space available. However, we do need an air gap...
