    Grout Floor Tiles

Hi all I am at the stage where I am ready to grout my floor tiles. Where I have pressed the tiles into the adhesive, the adhesive has filled the gap in the grout line. I removed as much as I could at the time, however will I need to remove this before I grout, or can I grout straight over...

    Ceramic adhesive for porcelain tiles

Hi all I am laying new porcelain floor tiles in my toilet, and have a spare bag of Mapei floor and wall tile adhesive. It says this is suitable for ceramic and quarry tiles, is this a dead no no to use for porcelain? Many thanks

Tile from middle of room, or middle of door?

Thanks for this, I’ve had a play around with the cardboard cuttings, how does this look? I can see this being tricky to keep the tile in tact like you say, but because it’s behind the loo it won’t need to be perfect. The grout line is fine as it will be with these cuts

This looks so much better, I can’t thank you enough for your help. Would you have any advice/top tips on how to cut around the soil pipe and inlet pipe at all please?

Tile from middle of room, or middle of door?

Also another set up I’ve tinkered with, how does this look? Looking at the attached picture, it leaves: Red sections: 11cm gap tile to wall Blue section: 15.5cm gap tile to LVT The tile dimensions are 33cm x 33cm Thanks

Tile from middle of room, or middle of door?

Hi all I am going through a dry lay of the tiles, just a quick question. I ideally want a narrow threshold bar, so setting up the middle tile with the middle of the doorway, every other tile won’t match up to the pattern unless I make the cuts around the door frame first, is this what is...

Tile from middle of room, or middle of door?

Great advice, thank you very much. As the post beneath this suggested, I have the exact tiles he has put up a picture of, is this easy enough to match up the pattern with 3mm spacers? After research I decided to buy these instead of the 2mm Thanks

Tile from middle of room, or middle of door?

Thanks for the advice. My floor tiles are 330mm x 330mm, will a 2mm grout line be okay for this, as I’m planning on getting the tile levelling system which comes with the 2mm spacers. Thanks

Tile from middle of room, or middle of door?

Hi all. I am about to start my first ever tiling job. I’m laying some ceramic floor tiles in my toilet room. I have measured up the middle of the room ready to start laying my first tile (black line below) however I’m wondering if it would be better to centralise the first tile to the middle...

    Leaking compression tee joint

Hi all I have replaced some pipework, and have plumbed three copper pipes in to a compression tee. Once I turned the water back on, there wasn’t any leak for half an hour, and then I noticed a very very small bit of water dripping on to some toilet paper beneath the joint. The pipes had alot...

Water Hawk Jointing compound - slight leak

Hi all I have a slight leak coming from the bottom bolt of the isolating valve on a copper pipe. I have covered the thread in water hawk sealing compound, is it okay to apply more compound even though water has gone through it? Thanks, Paul.

    Leaking stop cock

I decided to use a push fit stop cock which has worked a treat, just got a very small leak on the isolation valve to solve now. I’ve put some water hawk compound on the thread and it definitely helped, is it worth putting more on, or PTFE tape? Thanks for your help

    Leaking stop cock

I feel like I’ve tightened up as far as they can go, I’ll try again tomorrow and see what happens, but will probably resort to checking the olives and pipes like you suggested. Diameter is 15mm yep Thanks
