you wont be emptying the central heating system just the water in the pipework for your taps/shpwer etc-no need to refil-just turn mains water back on and open taps.

wouldnt open the pressure relief valve if i was you,most of the time the will not re seat properly.

allways worked on gas but been put onto oil aswell a couple of weeks ago.The oil pump had definately gone as b4 i replaced the boiler would not fire up and there was no pressure at the oil pump (solenoid tested ok)pump was an old danfoss mlsa type.

Found what the fault was today-2 weeks ago they had the air pressure switch replaced so checked it out-they had fitted a switch from a solo2 onto it-replaced with proper one and working great now!
