Or use a brush on the new artex and slap and pull. A 4" if you have one

    Painting on Smooth Plaster

I'm thinking pva has been used previously. This may still be on the plaster so may need a good sanding! Does the plaster still look shiny?

    Painting filler on ceiling

White undercoat will work. If it's just filler you could also use acrylic primer/undercoat which dries quick and then put your emulsion on top.

Paint peeling from walls - big time

You could maybe try some textured paint and try and blend it in!

    Paint peeling off plaster

I'd say the plaster was pva'd. This is a big no no!

Did I get the paint right?

Sanded it so good you could see your 1982 Spain world cup Panini sticker album in the loft! :)

    Mysterious creases on wall

Yes, very unlikely. It does look exactly like paper has bubbled, hence all the replies mentioning the paper. I don't think plaster would bubble, it would just crack again. Wet it and see if it goes soft!

Delux one coat vs normal Delux

Yes. It will look much better with a coat of paint. Would you have time to put some acrylic primer on first? You'd probably be fine without it but it will help the top coat bond!

    Mysterious creases on wall

Are you 100% that there is no lining paper on it? It can often look just like a plastered wall. I dont think its damp. More likely air in the crack. Damp normally shows as a colour change or spots of mould! Sorry, i have no clue about the structures being ok. If ut helps it happens in almost...

    Mysterious creases on wall

Hmm, no wallpaper. In that case there must be cracks underneath that have been filled on top. It's always the bay windows, to do with house movements and the weight of the windows. Do you still have some of the paint? If you Stanley knife through those bubbles I'm almost certainly you will...

Painting on top of wallpaper backing paper

Fair enough. Sand and fill any big cracks or uneven bits first and size the wall before hanging the lining paper.

    Wallpaper paste

Do you have ready mixed paste or is it mix it yourself? I personally never paste the wall (don't like getting paste all over my hanging brush) so even with paste the wall I use a ready mixed paste and paste one piece then hang immediately. You have to watch though as some paste the walls have...

    Decorators scope of work

As above. I'm a decorator and unless it's a smallish hole I'm not plastering anything. There will be ones out there who have it in their lockers.

    Mysterious creases on wall

It's 99% cracks in the wall. Also the tape effect looks to me like the plasterboard joining tape which is a mesh tape used between boards. It looks like some has been used to bond the cracks. The cracks themselves are in the usual places I see which is underneath the window frames. A lot of the...

    Paint snail marks

Very strange. It could be a caulk someones used, or a bonding gun or someone has filled cracks at some point. Although the pattern doesn't seem to suggest any of those. As said above, some zinsser should solve it!

Did I get the paint right?

I think you getting rid of the flakey paint would have solved the flakey paint problem. The fact you've done all the other stuff can only help. It sounds like the original paint was just a basic Matt which can be quite chalky anyway. I don't think you'll have any problems now!

Painting on top of wallpaper backing paper

It depends if the backing paper is in good condition and flat to the wall with no bubbles or edges showing. If it definitely has lining paper underneath you could soak the backing paper in water and gently remove it leaving behind the linng paper. It obviously depends on the condition it's in...

Delux one coat vs normal Delux

No need for mask. You could go for the easycare paint which is washable when finished. Only thing is, is it is a bit see through. I had to give it 3 coats but as I do it all the time the 3rd coat took me about 45 minutes for the whole room. If it's the same colour then two coats would be fine...

    Painting door frames

Do edges to paper first. Frames where door opens inwards should be done first then you can open door to do outer frame. Do one edge with door shut then open door to do the rest. Once inner frame is done start the edges of the outer frame

    Painting door frames

Thin the paint slightly so it flows well and do it by hand with a good brush! Do the frame edges before the faces.
