Excuse my stupidity, but can i connect 4 mains powered smoke alarms on a spur off the lighting circuit or mains ring? or should I put them on their own supply? Thanks for the help Tom

thanks, i am in the middle of converting my loft, i will extend the ring from the floor below, it only has three double sockets on it. Is there a limit to the number of sockets i can have on a ring? cheers :)
