its worth checking the keep on the frame incase it or the other locating brackets have moved out off line does the door mechanism work ok when fully open and not trying to fit in any frame fixings??

my suggestion dont assume it's a straight taper end to end or even the board edge is straight and level do your checking with a known straight edge usually you cut the board to length, allowing for scribing you then push the board back untill in position and parallel at the front edge but...

as an aside many a blade can look fine but be blunt with great care and gentle varying pressure on non-aggressive blades [not highly ground pointy ones] you can feel the teeth grip the ridges on your fingertips with the more they grip with light pressure the sharper they are only talking 1-2mm...

ok no expert on nails i have a ryobi 18 [50mm]and 16 gauge [65mm]and they are brilliant at pull out resistance for the size on cladding but the head will pull though long before the nail shank looses grip so i wouldnt trust on studs but could be wrong with longer nails ??

think small pin gun for 18 gauge and pin gun for 16 gauge not nail gun you need nails with big heads and big shanks not sub 2mm shanks so look at 15 gauge collated nails

other option iff you have a cabinet to the rhs not under a sink that you can move swap the machine to that position
