I bought a pack of M8's - 7.50 odd i nScrewfix for 100. Turns out they are too small. The nut I have says 8 on it so I assumed it was M8! Looked online on how to work out nut size - nightmare.

well as the nut unwinds the post starts coming loose because I think the bit inside the wall gets smaller as the nut is undone - when i tightened the nut back up it expands again and the post is ocne again held firmly. So I need to stop the nut from unwinding.
