Marking thermalites

Hi All

I have cause to go round a house with bare thermalite style grey blocks and make loads of markings.

My thinking was to use chalk.

It would then all be covered up with plasterboard afterwards.

Is there anything better or is chalk the logical choice? I don't think chalk would cause any reaction or anything over long term would it?[/i]

just use a nail to make the impression then use the chalk to high lite it.
