Hi,

I need to dry line an extension which has very smooth thermalite walls. I realise the usual procedure would be to dot and dab but as I'm not much good at it would it be OK to fix the plasterboard using plasterboard screws directly into the blocks

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

You need to fix the boards with an appropriate adhesive otherwise they will rattle like bu99ery.

batten out the walls with 30 mm battens at 600 mm centres then fix the plasterboard to the battens with drywall screws.presto!the battens also allow for any cables or wires to go behind the drywall
