    Random, the instructions do not mention using terminal 3. Just neutral to 4 and connecting to mains which it seems to suggest to 1 on the diagram? Maybe the blue is permanent live.

    ok so you are saying the blue is the permanent live? Please be clear if possible. See instructions on the neutral to term 4...

    it is a blue and brown wire. I don't understand this comment. The instructions refer to wiring the neutral to term 4. Should I try the permanent live into teminal 3 of the stat?

    I have now fitted the replacement froststat which just has one permanent live and the neutral. Froststat is clicking at ambient temp but boiler not activating.

    there was no earth connection to older (or new) froststat.

    The old Honeywell was wired in this way too, there is only a permanent live and neutral wire to froststat. A separate switched live goes to boiler from the bolier switch. Greenbrook diagram atached.

    Hi, I switched my old Honeywell froststat (it had a broken mount and was firing up boiler) to the cheap Greenbrook TH90F.     Yes I have had to use the boiler switch to deactivate the faulty froststat. Boiler would not switch off!! Hopefully shortly this will not be necessary when new froststat is fitted. But still the question remains what is the point of a permanent live to the froststat when the boiler switch...

    why to permanent live? It is still overridden by boiler on/off switch in my garage...so what is the point of always live? (If switch to boiler off it wont work).
