Sooo.... the single socket that you say was installed at a later date is a different single socket to the one you first referred to (the one you use for soldering iron)? Could you confirm that you have two ring final circuits (the soldering iron socket is on one of these) & a single socket...

The flex on my mother's ancient iron went bang where it exits the appliance. I bought a length of replacement flex from ebay & fitted it (nothing appeared odd wrt conductor size). It went bang in exactly the same place the very first time she used it. As a result I will never buy cables...

If you reverse the input/output & pass some current through it, will it run backwards? Similar to the Ferrari in Ferris Bueller's day off.

The spar bath (sic) is apparently fed from MCB number 11 (15A?), but the legend on the wall suggests MCB number 2 (6A). Somebody might have been counting from the opposite end I suppose, but it's anybody's guess. Did Spar ever sell budget Jacuzzis that only draw <6A? :mrgreen:

It's in the picture at the rear of the property. That would appear to be the case. You have to admire the inginuity and bizaar intent to retain that particular fitting!

Purchase yourself a set of trim removal tools. I used to cause damage to clips etc. by going at it with screwdrivers and other metal implements. With trim tools, not only do they not damage the plastics, they are quite delicate themselves, so you need to take it easy. Once the door card is off...

I usually drill straight through the trunking into the wall & insert a red plug through the trunking, when the countersunk screw head meets the wall plug, it spreads out creating a "washer" of sorts. :D
