    Tripping RCBO

Thanks for your input secure. I think I might change the RCBO to an MCB and see what happens. If the RCD continues to trip - like you say, it may be sparky time. I don't have a Megger. Thanks again.

    Tripping RCBO

Yes, I've checked - all nice & tight. To elaborate - the small CU feeds a lean-to greenhouse attached to house. GH was replaced, so I stripped out the electrics (some non IP rated fittings & mini trunking) beforehand & refitted it using IP rated accessories & 20mm conduit in the new GH. I...

    Tripping RCBO

I'm not sure - I didn't design the circuit. But the RCD never trips.

    Tripping RCBO

Circuit is as follows: 16A RCBO feeding small CU with 30mA RCD + 15A MCB for one double socket + 5A MCB for lights. The lights are two 2ft fluorescents with 2 way switching, for some reason the lights intermittently trip the RCBO when they are switched off. But only from one of the switches...

    The New Clampers (ITV1 18/10/16)

The vehicles were removed from the scene by winching (dragging) them on to a traditional recovery truck. The picture is how they were handled at the impound. The fiesta was being prepared for collection by its owner. Complete with under body damage I'd wager.

    The New Clampers (ITV1 18/10/16)

One of those hiabs with a frame that lifts via cradles at each wheel?

    The New Clampers (ITV1 18/10/16)

The program featured a police endorsed independent recovery company (openly named) in Luton, removing cars from the football stadium forecourt prior to a match. Surely this is not an acceptable way to handle other people's vehicles, whether illegally parked or not?

    Build in shower radio

The quality of the unit looks pretty poor. I'd be looking inside the box with the label on it for bad caps in the power supply. http://www.badcaps.net/

    Hanging privacy screen?

It looks like your door has a step down on to the driveway? If so, surely when you are at ground level their door is out of view isn't it? IMHO, if you put anything there, you may add fuel to the fire. Better off just ignoring them if they are that bad.

Does a 3A 1362 in a table lamp plug count? Had two pop on SBC incandescent candle lamp failure in the past. With quite a pop too.

    panasonic tv

Enter the service menu (Google how to do this) there is a maximum volume setting in there for when the TV is used in a hotel room etc. Set this to your usual listening level. Don't adjust anything else in there. Exit service menu. Job done.

Upstairs light not working... (pictures attached)

In your 1 bathroom.jpg picture, it looks to me like someone has retained the original rose & pendant flex inside the replacement (metal) fitting - please check that the earth (CPC) has also been connected. I don't think it has. I also note that in the rose pictured on your first post...

    Good old wylex...

Sorry if it has been asked already, but could these dodgy Crabtree breakers be found in a Starbreaker consumer unit? TIA

    Consumer unit area

Could it be that the chunky T&E is a 16mm incomer fed from a switch fuse at the meter and the two cables at the bottom are tails feeding the Wylex?

Anyone know what this weird box is?

I have been following this thread with interest - a few questions : JohnD - what makes you say it looks like 415V? The three fuses/breaker or the rating on the fuse carriers? How can it be "a more fatal shock"? You mean a greater chance of a fatal shock me thinks. OP - where does the smaller...

What's this wire under the bonnet?

This is a bit tricky & it's important that you connect this correctly. To me, it looks like the picture is taken from the nearside wing, therefore I think the battery clamp in the foreground goes off to the bodywork (negative) & the other two head off towards the alternator (positive). Peter -...
