    Coving (90mm) or not?

I'm having my ceilings skimmed tomorrow. Have chance to put up coving in my kitchen / dining room but cant make mind up. Ceilings are pretty standard height (2.4m). Kitchen will be a modern country style from Howden's. And dining room will be a modernish look. Living room, hall etc all have...

    Stud Wall Noise Insultation

Not decided on sound resistant plasterboard or just normally plasterboard. Any experience of sound resistant board? Will be 12.5mm either way. Doesnt need to be Wickes. B&Q or Jewsons look cheapest for standard plasterboard and timber, delivered. 6 sheets of tapered 12.5mm plasterboard (1200 x...

    Could I skim these walls?

With you. Thanks. As an aside, perhaps an unanswerable question - is there much in replacing a ceiling like this for a pro? 2-3 days?

    Could I skim these walls?

Staggered? I assume the straps are cosmetic. That said, before removing them I'd be checking for any screws etc and replace them as it was removed (assuming I do that part myself, which I may not)

Any ideas what this patch is on ceiling?

Yes. Seemed to be a dry space. Boiler at opposite end. Mainly floored. Insulated. Various boxes stored.

Great. This was exactly my thinking but I'm obviously not an expert. Many thanks

Any ideas what this patch is on ceiling?

Went for a final viewing at a house today that considering making an offer on. Noticed a patch on the ceiling (see attachment). Its near a chimney breast. Looks like its on the photos advertised online (taken a month ago) and we missed it on earlier viewing. Any ideas? Hasn't worsened...

    Could I skim these walls?

I'm looking at buying a house and the walls and ceilings are all plasterboard. There is also a strapping running floor to ceiling and across the ceiling - that I don't particularly like. I would be very reluctant to remove all the boarding and re-do them. But I would quite happily have...

Hand Rail - made and fitted

There is a ramp to access my house. The ramp levels off at the top by the door and I wish to extend this area by around 800mm, both out from the door and away from the ramp. Basically make a larger square. The main challenge I foresee is around the handrail. The existing handrail is fairly...
