    Cordless drill off of ebay

If they're made to the same standard, attested by the same lab and certified by the same international body then yes no issue with those Chinese break pads. In many cases manufacturers just shipping the original tooling from country to country chasing labour costs down over the life cycle of the...

    Cordless drill off of ebay

Good points well made, used to work for a company that sub contracted out to China. Came with its challenges moving it out to China but those guys were dedicated and a pleasure to work with, delivering quality product, no issue buying Chinese if there's no UK product to meet my needs.

DIY skimming over walls, should I attempt?

If I go it alone I'll post what I'm upto here. Understand the issues and yes that board is slightly recessed into wall. The profile of the archway to the edge where a door frame could be isn't perpendicular, it's a terrible finish which even the old wall paper couldn't cover up. Thanks all for...

New central heating. Is this asbestos? Does it need professional removal?

HSE used to have photos of asbestos applications in homes and guidance. Perhaps revert to report when you bought the house, it may be a pointer. My report on early-ish 80s house questioned bardge boards under guttering could be asbestos. Also artex may well contain asbestos.
