Many thanks. I was thinking of using Leyland 10l trade matt white emulsion. Any idea if it's any good?
I was then planning on a dedicated kitchen paint for the walls above the worktops?
Hi
I need to buy white matt emulsion to paint my kitchen. Should I buy trade paint I.e. is it better or is it too difficult for an amateur to use? Does anyone have any recommendations, I would sooner pay the extra and have good quality.
Thanks
Darren
I am currently renovating the house and am intending to remove the old ceramic shower tray and replace it with a more modern one. I am about to get the kitchen ceiling directly below skimmed and was intending to use the access hole to undo the waste fitting. I cannot shift it, will a plumber be...
Thanks. This seems the best way. Do you have a technique for cutting the floorboard on the joist? I guess a conventional saw can't be used? Maybe carefully with a tenon saw?
I have recently moved into a house which has this old style exposed Aqualisa shower. I have just had a combined boiler installed and it is now difficult to get the right temperature. I move it to hot and it gets too hot and vice versa? When I move the temperature level to hot the water pressure...
The floor is level across the gap. I will be laying 4mm insulation and then planks of engineered wood.
The boards are exactly the same on the other side. Basically as it is only narrow I thought any bit of support would be ok?

Hi, I have had an internal wall removed in the kitchen and I am left with this channel. I will be laying wood flooring but to give it some support can I fill it with bonding plaster (I have a lot left over) on the bricks up to the level of the existing floor boards?
Its difficult to tell from these two photos but would anyone know how I can recreate this effect to fill in the holes that have been left in my wall above the fireplace.
I quite like the style so would like to be able to keep it rather than having it skimmed.
Hi,
I am looking to decorate my ceiling (house was built in early 1970's) and would like to strip it first so I can have a smooth finish. As you can see from the pictures it is textured and seems to have been painted over many times. I've pulled a section off but the rest is pretty well stuck...
Hi,
I believe my door bell transformer has broken, according to my electrician. I went to buy a new one and see they do 1 amp but also 0.5 amp. Is it correct to think it is the 1 amp I need? Any recommendations are welcome.
Thanks,
Darren
Hi,
I need to move my shaver socket in the bathroom about 50cm to the right. I intend to attach some extra cable via an insulating block in the existing shaver socket box and run the cable to the new box. I am a bit confused as to what type of cable that I should use? It look as if Screwfix...
Hi,
Just to be clear I have recessed the hinges!!
Is it possible for you to explain what you mean by putting on a leading edge on the door please?
Thanks,

Hi,
I am trying to fit internal doors but have not been very successful so far! I am fixing the hinges flush in both the door and frame but the door seems to bind when pushing the door fully shut.
Is there a method for fitting the hinges eg should the hinges be sloping in the door and...
