    Built-in wardrobe: ideas/trades?

If you want to keep the period look then MDf is the best bet, Ikea etc is OK if you want a modern look that is not quite fitted. Something like these I prefer a wood grained MFC (melamine faced chipboard) for the carcases, does not need finishing and marks less than a...

    Built-in wardrobe: ideas/trades?

Tulip would be the better choice, paints up well and should not move as much as pine, price sounds fair but I'm down South. I always build a full carcase rather than just a frame and doors but if your budget is tight go with frame & doors. You could also consider MDF doors I do a lot of...

    Built-in wardrobe: ideas/trades?

Get a decent joiner in, he should be able not match the style of your doors (which are one over two not two over one). Personally if I were making it I would bring the existing ones out so both sides match. Jason

Tiny alternative to traditional sprung hinge

If you fit a small block of wood flush to the front of the carcase and about 1" thick this will give you enough width to be able to use a face frame sprung hinge which will fit your existing hole in teh door. One of these make sure you order the hinge AND teh mounting plate. J

    Pitch of stairs

Are you looking at the correct side of the protractor or whatever you are using as it could well be 40degrees from horizontal which would be 50degrees from vertical. Jason

Extension bars for flat wood bits

Tey don't hold flat bits, either the hex recess or just plain hex ground ends. You can just about drive a hex recess with them but it comes out when you pull the bit out and if its a cheap drill bit will snap at the recess. Jason

    TCT countersink Chipboard etc ?

I use the trend snappy ones, the metric sizes are best as you get a full clearance hole in the board so there is no risk of jacking. http://www.trend-uk.com/en/US/trend/content/download_file.php?file=cGFnZV8yMDQucGRm. J

    Router Bit

Keep the shelves a bit thicker then just use the ply for vertical dividers The following will take you to 5.0mm and 5.5mm cutters assuming you want 1/4" shank but they do larger as well. Very good mail order service and quality cutters...

    best kitchen worktops

I wouldn't say granite was as bomb proof as laminate, can be chipped, scratched, marked by cooking oil and citric acids. As long as you don't cut on a laminate top or put a hot pan on them they are the best all rounder. You can use something like Rustins plastic coating on worktops which...

Sheet needed for building a box trailer

Have a look at pheonolic ply, this is the reddish-brown coloured board you often see used on trailer bases with a slight textured finish. Its basically a good quality ply impregnated with pheonolic resin which makes it a lot more durable and waterproof. Jason

    Shower tray

I would do it ad OJJ says, the formers have a proper outlet that fits flush with the tiles and is designed to incorporate the tanking. Trying to seal a standard tray waste to tile is asking for a leak I usually use the Impey ones, have a look at their site there is a video of how to fit...

Nearest would be 7-32 ASME - dia is 3.835mm and 32 pitch but this is a very obscure thread. If its of a bike then 5/32x 32tpi CEI (Cycle Engineers Institute.) thread is very likely, used gor mudgaurd eyes and bottle cages, its 3.97 dia possibly a loosly cut 8-32 UNC which is also 32tpi...
