    The old Alkathene pipe black in colour used in the 70's quite a bit. We normally used a 3/4 olive to change over to 22mm on this pipe

    There lies the problem,When you have a Combi it can only effectively supply one hot water outlet at time so if one person is having a shower and someone else opens anotber hot tap then they start to share the hot water supply This is the drawback with most combi boilers unfortunately

    We work in a very hard water area and the minimum recommended to customers is a Combi mate or better option of proper water softener Unfortunately no manufacturer covers blocked plates or damage to any other components caused by the effects of scale I would bite the bullet and have one...

    channel Tarmac Drive or go under?

    The way to go under would be to Mole the pipe through but in your case I think it's just as easy to cut a channel and refill it after you have laid the pipe in.

    Any installer worth their salt can flush a system and install another Combi in a day Just because Telly Tony took up plumbing and heating very late in life and thus not have the speed or the experience of proper tradesman doesn't mean the customer should be penalised and have to pay...

    Well rough ,straight valves and chrome pipework.no excuses for work like that If customer supplied me the wrong valves as a professional I would have asked them to get me the correct ones and some chrome pipe and couple elbows whilst at it

    Redo the soil pipe,rather then cutting the toilet .Modern toilets have different setback from the wall and it will need to be done at some point anyways

    You can buy an olive cutter which does 15 22 and 28 plus any other size . I prefer this to pullers hacksaws grinders and all the other methods Bought them a few years ago from an independent plumbers merchants and are totally brilliant They look like a pair of small bolt cutters with one side...
