There's a transformer connected to my Consumer Unit. I believe its 12-24v
Always worked until a couple of months ago but now I have to keep charging the battery for the ring door bell to work .
Not sure if the transformer is gone or what.
I used a martindale V28 voltage tester. On the...
Thanks that sounds like a great idea.
Do you have a link of basic electrics .. so much info out there. Some more to do with electronics instead of electrics. Then some more US related instead of UK.
Hello guys
I've managed to get a martindale 2 poll tester.
Can someone please explain how to use it ? Ie sockets and lighting? Or a decent youtube showing it.
I think the sole purpose of it is to see if there's voltage going through it and there is a live circuit ?
Thanks
Okay I was merely stating that the course could be 2 or 3 years. I didn't need to do the first year so mine became a 2 year course .
If you haven't got a minimum of level 3 already you need to do the 3 year course.
Anyways thanks for the clarity
It's a pretty simple answer if you already have any qualifications above level 3 ie A Levels , degree which is a level 6. I have both. You then don't need to do level 1...
Your not being mean mate.
The course only offered from level 2. If you have A levels in anything else. You don't need to do level 1. Level 1 and 2 are similar they say.
I have done alot of DIY before. But not change consumer units etc.
I just wanted to know . Thanks for that. I guess there must've been a time when there weren't any regs on this and it was okay to do.... but yeah ofcourse things change.
So I will need to put a new Circuit board in before I'm allowed to add the spot lights?
Is that purely from h/s perspective ? Or legislation/regulations etc?
