What do they paint/treat fence panels with? (Clear finish)

Got 20+ 5ft fence panels that need their first "paint". Want to "paint' (or spray) a clear/natural wood colour but all the usual Ronseal fence/shed stuff is browns, greys, greys, blues, etc. What can I use???? (Remember I have to do at least 20 panels (both sides of at least 8)

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

Interesting! So you think it is possible to fit that size into the available 1.3m passageway. I'd long picture the roof as being pitched with two large "velux" to maximise light and critically maintenance access through them. I've look on various sites (theirs, outlets, etc) but none seem to...

Perfect! People's guidance based on knowledge helps thin out the options.

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

No. Got to different builders and someone that I use for windows etc. Trouble is they're all saying it's a job for the other(s)!! Case of I need to better understand what I want!!!

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

114cm wide? The passage is 130cm wide so that leaves 16cm (8cm each side). Is that too narrow consider the window-to-roof and roof-to-wall flashing? Also there would be the timber-work for the roof to consider.

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

Thinking of a longer term solution, I'd considered a tiled pitch roof with some large "velux" type windows. If my passage way is 1.3m - what is the widest "velux" that I could have? I'm assuming there are two bits of flashing to consider each side of the window (one from house, one from window...

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

No vents, etc. Only one of the windows is opening and we have plenty ventilation in that room.

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

Yes - they're equally keen to keep the damp out - its caused their property problems in the past.

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

The part of the boundary that I would connect to is the neighbours house (not garden) wall.

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

I'd considered trying to add/incorporate some sort of joists hangers so that we could do similar to what you described for. Access is hopefully required little and not very often but I'll guarantee it will be needed sooner than later if I do not provision for it - something about s o day's law!

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

No accessible drain/downpipes at front of house (only at closed end of passage) Lean to works but doesn't allow for easy access to the surrounding house walls, guttering, roof. That said - been in house 6-years and only needed access when we had the main roof done but access handy for clearing...

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

Sorry - yes, assumed the roof if pitched would run along the corridor (from house at one end to garden at other). Frustrating thing is that the drain is at the house end of the passageway. I like water to travel the shortest distance and I'm potentially sending it 3 metres along a roof to bring...

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

Two things: Keep the water out (as there have been issues in the past) Create a useful storage place with the option of having a sink area (ideal for cleaning after gardening, etc). My main concerns are: Maximising natural light (for the two rooms that have windows facing into the passageway)...

Roof options for covering passageway (with limited daylight)

Hi, Looking for options for covering a service passageway that runs between house and our neighbours - it is a dead end. Passageway is currently open (no roof) so rain can get in but there is little light /ventilation to dry it out. Passage is: 3.7m long 1.3m wide Surrounded on both sides and...

BEKO DW603 dishwasher - continuous humming noise (cycle doesn't end)

Hi, I didn't receive any response to my post so we've finally given up trying to salvage ours (new one arrives tomorrow!). Tried all sorts and feel confident it's the main circuit board but they're £55ish and one come with 1-year warranty. Tilting it did help (clear the water from the base...

Heritage Glastonbury exposed thermostatic shower - started squealing

I've managed to get my wife to dig out a pocket sized tin of vaseline. That's 20grams so it gives me a good idea of what 1oz (28grams) looks like. Plenty for this job!! Thanks again - big help!

Heritage Glastonbury exposed thermostatic shower - started squealing

How far does that 1oz tin go? Will that do one service or keep me stocked-up for future jobs?

BEKO DW603 dishwasher - continuous humming noise (cycle doesn't end)

Been reading a lot of reports of a pipe disconnecting. Had a look this morning and the clear pipe (approx 15mm) is connected at both ends (start at right side panel and connects to sump). There was a small amount of gunk in it but the slightest rinse cleared that. Explored both connections with...
