    Lighting in the loft

Hi Everyone, At present I have to get an extension lead and plug into a socket then trail the cable up into the loft to plug a light in up there and it's all very pretty dangerous having these wires trailing so I thought I'd do something about it and install loft lighting up there. I have seen...

    Loft Insulation Question

Hi All, When insulating a loft. I know that building regs say that there should be 270mm of insulation up there. My question is this: If putting insulation in the rafters below the roof as well, would I still need 270mm of insulation under the floor or is the 270mm of insulation usually shared...

    Help with Loft

Hi John, Thanks for your swift and concise reply. I assume by counterbattening you mean as the original joists run front to back, the counter battening would run from side to side. Regards,

Hi All, I'm upgrading my alarm system from a Scantronic 9448+ to a Texecom Veritas Excel. The Scantronic alarm hasn't worked properly since we moved in the property. Changing Halogen Bulbs to LED

Hi All, When we moved into our house we found our kitchen to have dimmable bulbs by means of a Varilight system (V-Pro IR). Each bulb is a 12v 35W Halogen MR16 bulb and is connected connected by a Ansell Electronic Transformer For LV Halogen bulbs (See below). I want to switch now to LED bulbs...

    Scantronic 9448+ Alarm

More further info. When I disconnect the switch at the door (zone wires only) touch them together and then separate them I get the chime as though the door has been opened. So it must definitely be the switch.

    Scantronic 9448+ Alarm

Hi All, Have tried the door again but still no chime from the system when the door is opened. Checked the wiring by putting an LED on the end of the wires in the control panel and applying power from 9v battery from the door end. LED comes on so no breaks in the cable. Not being detected on a...
