External wall RSJ - Amount of brickwork required

Anyone? I've been looking at Part A which suggests a minimum return of 665mm. Granted I'm reading it on a 4" screen and I've probably missed something, is this the amount of brickwork I'd be looking at?

External wall RSJ - Amount of brickwork required

If you need any more detail let me know. Not afraid to admit that structural engineering is outside of my comfort zone. The 9" wall is the exterior wall of the house. Ground floor joists run top-bottom; first floor run left-right.

External wall RSJ - Amount of brickwork required

I don't have that, as theyre only quotes. As it is I'm trying to do a 2D layout of what the room (kitchen/diner) will look like once it's done, to make best use of the space.

External wall RSJ - Amount of brickwork required

Morning all. Just a quick one; we've had a couple of quotes for the installation of 2No. RSJ's to an external wall. This particular corner of the house is almost an L shape, with the RSJ's being inserted in the vertical part of the L. Presuming the length of this vertical part is 2300mm, how...

    What size SWA?

Where is the main incomer in relation to the granny annex? I'm thinking that the annex will already be fed from the main house CU, and if so you need to include the volt drop on that part of the run. Or am I reading it wrong and you're taking the feed from the main house CU?

    External wall - RSJ/concrete lintel

Evening all. I'm in the process of buying a house. On one end of the house are two external coal bunker type structures (one next to the other, split by an internal wall). These have been built onto the side of the house, rather than into it. Our current intention is to knock through into...

Incomer & meter relocation - cost

Thanks. I think my local DNO is Northern Powergrid. It's not an overhead line per se, it's daisy chained from house to house, so not your traditional overhead from poles; it disappears into the ground somewhere, but not at the property I'm intending to buy. The CU is already on the outside...

Incomer & meter relocation - cost

Afternoon all. We're in the process of buying a house and one of the first jobs we're planning is to knock through the kitchen wall into the adjoining bathroom to make a large kitchen/diner. Problem is, the cutout & meter are on this wall (at high level, in the corner). Ideally we'd have...
