    Intermittent hot water combi boiler

That's correct the issue was occurring on taps also so ruled out shower head. Had a shower this morning and was fine, didn't go cold at any point. Completely baffled now. Is there a chance it could have been a temporary gas supply issue, maybe low gas flow from the provider? Would you guys...

    Intermittent hot water combi boiler

What I meant by intermittent is that if we turn tap/shower on it will get hot as normal and then after a minute or two it will go cold for roughly 30 to 60 seconds and then get hot again and then repeat. So if having a 10 min shower it will have gone cold 4-5 times during it. Strangely we...

    Intermittent hot water combi boiler

I've bled all the radiators but not the boiler as the manual says it has as an Automatic Air Vent to release trapped air in the boiler. I am not sure about the circulation path to be honest as I haven't got access to all pipework. If there isn't could it impact the domestic hot water?

    Intermittent hot water combi boiler

Thanks for the reply. Sorry just to clarify the rad pipes are capped off and the CH system was repressurised, we haven't left it drained. We've done the same process a couple of months when replacing a rad in a different room.

    Intermittent hot water combi boiler

Hi, I've got a Worcester Greenstart 36CDi combi boiler and we've got intermittent hot water at the moment. It happens when filling the bath in the shower and taps when run for long enough so looks to the boiler. The day before it started we drained the system and removed 2 radiators as we are...

Paint mixed in store vs direct

Ok apologies in advance as this may be a stupid question but is there any difference getting paint mixed from a local shop rather than buying it direct from the manufacturer such as Little Greene or Benjamin Moore? In the shop for example does the machine type, age or maintenance & cleaning of...

    Satinwood Paint

Yes I am leaning towards Chantilly Lace at the moment although their website suggests Super White is close to a brilliant white even though Chantilly Lace is brighter. Also looking at Simply White as it is a bit softer. Interesting that the Dulux Diamond is ok for brush marks. I might try it...

    Acrylic paint finish

Thanks opps. I need to invest in some Owatrol I think. I did use a bit of white spirit sometimes but just wasn't sure if I should do. Because I am not the fastest painter I find the paint was getting really thick towards the end and then I didn't want to add more white spirit. I actually bought...

    Satinwood Paint

I am in a similar boat to you but I am using the oil based Satinwood as I hate the brush marks with WB. I am planning to buy a tin of Scuff X Satin. Just trying to decide on the colour white as they don't do Brilliant White.

    Benjamin Moore which white?

Thanks everyone. Bit overwhelmed by all the whites to be honest after going down a YouTube rabbit hole . Yes seems Chantilly Lace is the whitest they do. I am leaning towards that but also Simply White as it seems it is a bit softer as it has a hint of yellow? Wayners, have you used the...

    Acrylic paint finish

Interesting as I get the impression most pros on here have gone water based. Can I ask what your preferred solvent based paint is for woodwork? I am using Dulux Trade Satinwood at the moment and have been struggling with it, it seems so thick and sticky, this is a new tin of paint from Wickes...

    Acrylic paint finish

They paint fast ;). I tried water based in my old house but wasn't happy with the results, I guess I am not good enough at painting. I am using oil based paint in my new house at the moment. You can try adding a product called Floetrol, it helps keep the paint wet for longer. Benjamin Moore...

    Benjamin Moore which white?

I am thinking about trying Scuff X Satin or Advance Satin for the woodwork in my home but it seems BM don't do a Brilliant White. Anyone who uses it on here, which white did you choose please?

Heavy radiator - am I being over cautious?

Thanks for the replies chaps, as advised I cracked on and got the radiator up and plumbed in over the long weekend. It seems really solid so think it will be fine. Cheers again!

Heavy radiator - am I being over cautious?

Hi, I am planning to replace a single radiator with a new double one in a bay window in an upstairs bedroom . The new radiator weighs around 55kg including the water. Dimensions are 450mm x 1600m. The wall is plasterboard and I have found 2 vertical studs and luckily they are in the correct...

What type of paint is this?

We moved into a house that has an outbuilding with black painted walls and we're looking to repaint it. The paint that the previous owners used seems to peel off and has a plasticky feel to it, never seen it before and was wondering what type of paint is this? We are planning to paint it a light...

Covering gap above sliding doors on outbuilding

Moved in to a new property that has an outbuilding and there is a big gap where the sliding doors meet the roof. What would be best to use to cover this up? Maybe some anthracite coloured trim but a bit unsure what ill attach it to?
