i have Quickstep laminate flooring throughout my house and have never experience such problems. Just had a look at their brochure, and it says their flooring have anti-static properties.

    Laminate floor

Hi there. I agree with Scottie361. I too would recommend Quickstep laminate flooring. It might be pricier than the other laminates that you can buy from the big DIY sheds, but it is a better quality product and much easier to fit. Which direction are you laying the laminate? I would lay the...

    Wooden floor edging around architrave

Hi vkusuman, I think you are best doing what Steve22 has suggested. If you have a Screwfix or a Toolstation store near you, you can buy tubes of coloured sealant to match your wood colour. The two that I have found are for Oak...

    Problem with Baxi boiler

Hi, Just an update on my Baxi 105e boiler. The problems has now been fixed. It needed a new DHW heat exchanger, as the old one was blocked and water was flowing through it slowly. The flashing neon light at the 60c turned out to be the pin was not coming up fully to hit the microswitch...

New radiator, plastic polypipe and earthing query

Hi, Hoping someone here can be kind enough to give me some advice/info on a query for a friend of mine. He's planning to replace his old single panel radiator to a new double panel one. At the moment the two pipes going into the radiator comes up from the centre and goes outwards to the...

    Problem with Baxi boiler

Thanks for the advice. I've booked the boiler in for it's annual service on the 9th Feb, so I'll ask the engineer if it could be the thermistor or pcb that could be causing the problem. Do you have any idea of an estimate cost for changing either component? Thanks again

    Problem with Baxi boiler

Hi, Hoping some of the central heating engineers can help me out with this. I had a Baxi Combi 105e boiler installed back in November 2002. Just recently there's been a neon ligh flashing at the 60c mark, and there's no hot water. According to the user guide it says it's either a fault on...

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO INSTALL LAMINATE FLOORING

I've had the "pleasure" of fitting the Wickes laminate a few years ago and I believe the range was called "Fast Fix". lol. It was a nightmare to fit. Prior to that I had gotten so used to the Quickstep laminate and their uniclic system that I just assumed all laminate was like that. How wrong...

    Problems with new laminate flooring

Hi Sidd, Laminate flooring is installed as a floating floor, so it should never be pinned down. Did the installer leave a 10mm expansion gap around the perimeter of the room? As 'big-all' says, get the fitter back to sort it out

    Laminate newbie

Hi gazbo1972, You would need to use an underlay specifically designed for laminate, and not carpet underlay. You can use either a foam underlay or the fibreboard type as evo111 recommended. As you have a concrete subfloor, I would advise you to lay a damp proof membrane on it before the...

    Laminate Flooring

How long has the concrete been down? You need to make sure it is dried thoroughly. It depends on the thickness. I'm sure one of the regular experts on here will tell you how long to wait before laying a laminate floor. Back to your query, you would still need to get a combined underlay with...

laminate floor in porch joining to living room floor

How about putting ceramic tiles down on the floor in the porch? At least during the wet weather, it won't get wet and soggy like the carpet.

    beading for laminate flo0oring

I normally use a nail gun to fix the beading on the skirting boards. Definitely a lot easier and neater to do than to hammer panel pins in without hitting your finger. lol. On some jobs where I can't use the nail gun or adhesive, I use strong double sided tape. Hope it helps.

Doorway Dividers Between Oak Floored Rooms

Do you mean the threshold bar to cover the expansion gap break in the floor between two rooms? If so, I think you would need the "T" bar threshold. You can buy solid oak ones which comes either unfinished or prefinished in lacquer or hard wax oil. Hope it helps :)

Help: Booting into Windows takes 10 minutes

I think I've just fixed it!!!! :D I was doing a search on google, and someone had a similar problem. Apparently they had a problem with their hardware. So I check Device Manager, and there were 2 exclamation marks showing, one on an old PCI Parallel port card and the other on a USB...
