With a nozzle that size you need to measure the flue gas temperature. Its large. The burner looks reasonable, so it's probably burning fairly near what it should. Have you cleaned the heat exchanger. The baffles get stuck so you can't remove them. no i have not cleaned them yet i did...

i will take the burner to bits tomorrow and see if the nozzle has any markings on it. what about the orange sooty flame though is that normal ?

Check if that's really the nozzle size. 90/130 should have sizes such as 1.00, 1.10, 1.25 for their output ranges. thats what the id plate on it says... but it is probably not the original burner for the boiler :?
