    Oil Boiler Servicing

Changing nozzles is not the cure for an unidentified problem. true but it is recommended to change it every 12 months by the manufacturer? Have you got ANY results to support this? only my eyes and ears, the flame is brighter less orange and quieter. It will? It depends why it was...

    Oil Boiler Servicing

Hi all I ordered some new nozzles for it. thought i would try a slightly smaller one to improve the combustion a bit. so i ordered a 1.10/60 a 1.20/60 and a 1.25/60. i tried the 1.10 first and the burner seems to work much better than it did before. the flame is much brighter and...

    Oil Boiler Servicing

With a nozzle that size you need to measure the flue gas temperature. Its large. The burner looks reasonable, so it's probably burning fairly near what it should. Have you cleaned the heat exchanger. The baffles get stuck so you can't remove them. no i have not cleaned them yet i did...

Check if that's really the nozzle size. 90/130 should have sizes such as 1.00, 1.10, 1.25 for their output ranges. thats what the id plate on it says... but it is probably not the original burner for the boiler :?

    Oil Boiler Servicing

As I said in my previous topic, my old Boulter 90/130 boiler is using a crazy amount of oil, around 1000L per month. I inherited this old boiler when I bought the house last year and the previous owner fancied himself as a bit of a diy’er. I believe the burner unit fitted to this boiler...

    New boiler time ?

sorry you posted as i was writing mine to post :) I have thought about a heat pump system But the house is set on a hillside with the only flat ground about 50 ft away down the hillside about 20ft below the level of the house so the trenches would be quite a distance away and 20 ft down...

    New boiler time ?

Does no one have any opinions on a new boiler? One that would use less than 3000L of oil in just over 3 months At £400 for a 1000L I cannot afford to spend £1200 every 3 months I do not believe that it is normal for an oil boiler to cost £4800 a year to run. This old boiler is rated...

    New boiler time ?

Well i was hoping that with a new current model boiler there would not be such a problem getting it fitted and maintained. unlike trying to get an obscure 14 year old boiler repaired when everyone i ask says that either they have never see one before or you can't get the parts or whatever...

    New boiler time ?

i tried to do that back in may when it was not working but no one would touch it! Worcester came and took one look at it and said i have not seen one of those before and wandered off again. Thats how i ended up on here and with help from people on here i fixed it myself if you know an...

    New boiler time ?

The 70% is the sedbuk rating for it? i think it has other problems though, i removed the burner unit back in May and found that the air flow baffles had been fitted incorectly and everything was very sooty in there. the adjustment screw for adjusting the baffle position was missing. and...

    New boiler time ?

Back in May you guys helped me to repair my old Boulter boiler. It is still going strong.... but The old beastie is getting very expensive to run, 3000L of oil in the last 3 months. I know it has been winter time but it has not been that cold and I shudder to think how much it would cost to...
