I have a builder currently sorting a brick opening and will be fitting a composite door into the opening. The aim is to have the inside hallway as wide as possible as going to squeeze a small wc into the hallway, which means trying to put the new door as far left to the inside wall as possible...

Hi all, having new upvc double glazed windows installed by a guy who is doing other bits on the house, before I hired him he said he was confident and had done windows before and nothing for me to worry about. I purchased the windows myself and just hired him to fit them along with other stuff...

Homeserve agreed to sort it so they have done now, they only use black pipes but oh well. Its up to me to get someone out to seal the hole now. Please see pics? I want to make sure its done right before I start chatting with roofers, so what would be the best way of sealing this up? Could...

    Changing thermostat to wireless

Yes, I agree about the a wired stat being superior, similar to how I hate wireless doorbells and would much prefer a wired one. Its a necessary though as mum is disabled and likes to take the stat with her around the house, for example if she's upstairs its difficult for her to just nip...

Aaah, thanks for that tip I will definately tell the electrician that. Have you come across the Salus RT510RF which is supposed to replace the RT500RF, looks like a newer model, might go for it as usually as time goes on little improvements are made, hoping it will pair up nicely to my...

    Changing thermostat to wireless

Did you mean to say the Honeywell CM927 as I couldnt find the CM929 anywhere: And is this the correct Salus one: I had a salus my previous property, didn't give me any problems in about 5 years apart from the buttons being a bit sticky after a while but that was minor. Big saving if I go...

Im guessing this is the type of part I need: Wowzers, this is a more expensive excercise than i thought it would be. I try and find a stat with built in timer and see if its any cheaper.

Soil pipe cracked above convervatory roof - best way of repairing

Thanks lads. Good question about homeserve not covering it, the guy that came didnt give me a reason. He hopped into his van for 10 min, came out and told me the conservatory roof panel needs removing before he will do it. I might ring them up again and get some more clarification incase they...
