I agree,but may also req a new prv if its being doing it a while as it may not re-seat correctly and get a constant drip.

To install you also must be able to plumb ,wheras to service or repair its not necessary. My workmate has done no plumbing ever so struggles with this aspect.

They may be lowest priced but their spares certainly aint. As these are generally poorly fitted they dont last long before having problems so its best to buy a second boiler for spares. :lol:

It could make tracing the source of any leaks tricky. The insulation could 'wick up' any leaks, and deposit water somewhere else where and when you least expect it. Like little clouds :lol:

It depends if you have open vented boiler or sealed system and if its a direct or indirect system . Your question is a bit vague,what are you planning to do?

I think you just have a low pressure problem here,somewhere on the boiler or system there is a pressure gauge ,this should read approx 1 bar when cold and 2 bar when hot. you need to check the pressure and then check the flow and return pipework going to the cylinder. There should be somewhere...

Is there any signs of a leak on the boiler? Is there water getting onto pcb or any electrical components,no matter how small an amount.

Can you give us more details,is the system pressure low,is megaflow upstairs and boiler downstairs for instance?
