commisioning my boiler

Depending on who fitted it and IF you can find anyone to actually commission someone elses install, anything up to approx £400

In our local area we would charge £84 to commission a boiler and fill in the appropriate parts of the Benchmark Certificate.

But thats NOT notifying CORGI or what is know as "signing off".

We also mark the Benchmark spaces as "not known" or "unregistered" just in case anyone tries to put our details in there!

"argile" if you commission it by "corgi law" you have to register it, i found this out after been sent to one by an old boss.
I'd charge about £250

To correctly commision a boiler to corgi standards would req removing flue and checking and also removing boiler to check correct wall fixings are used. Does anyone really do this? thats why you will struggle to find someone to do it.
But id be looking at £200 and only if it looked visually well fitted before i agreed to do it.

Thats not what they have told me!

Their logic, which I agree with, is that its better commissioned than not and they consider a non-commissioned boiler as At Risk. They also say that they would hope that we would try to identify the illegal installer and report him.

To notify the boiler I would remove it from the bracket and charge £180. Oddly we rarely get asked to do that! The only reason they used a non reg was to save money and that advantage would then disappear.
