hot water storage cylinder leaking intermittently ??????????

I'm thinking its a poorly connected overflow pipe, (the grey plastic pipe) this will explain why its intermittant, as the leak only occours when the overflow is 'leaking' which is usually after a period of non-usage of the water system, change the float valve and hopefully you will be alrite!

    Pressurised system

warm at top and cold and bottom means that the TRV has turned off at a set temp or sludge. turn all other (working) rads off and see if the prob rads get hot, if so then you may well need to balance system, if not may have bad pipework installation/sludge etc... and when balancing the...

    Pressurised system

if the TRV's are bi -flow then you will be ok, but some 'bi-flow' TRV's need adjusting (Danfoss RAS-C2 for eg). look at your TRV bodies and see if there are any arrows on them, a single ended arrow means one way flow and a double ended arrow means bi flow. They are probably biflow due to the...

    Non Return Valves.

If the water mixes within the tap body then you must put a check valve on the cold and its wise to put one on the hot to prevent back filling of the hot water system. If (as mentioned) you are using a bi-flow mixer then there is no need for backflow prevention (if the tap gap is maintained and...

Baxi Genesis 80 hot water problems

if the pipe is dripping then you will be losing pressure, what is the pressure at the mo? are you constantly topping up the pressure? The hot water prob may be unconnected to the dripping pipe (PRV\safety pipe) though.

i'm probably getting confused with the 'normal' set up on a combi (i.e. new!) you've probably got a 'box' basically a 3 port valve the switches on command from the flow switch, as opposed to an integrated diff pressure diverter that is an all in one unit. (go on kevplumb ...teach me! :D ).
