i find myself having to take the joint apart as i'm telling myself that it didnt engage properly (even if it goes up to the insert depth on the pipe), I've had problems with the pipe pinching the o-ring and consequently leaking, as i'm new to plumbing and the leaks occuored in my early years...

yes -backflow protection, and upstream :? I would have though as far downstream as possible (closer to the outlet-i.e.shower) nut i may be wrong (i am an apprentice so seek further advice to confirm!) BTW - they only allow the water to flow in one direction :wink:

Did you use an insert for the plastic pipe? I have more problems with pushfit than with copper (the pro's choice :) )

as brown said take the bath panel off and hold the plastic thing in place whilst tightening from above (in the bath). You may find that it may leak though depending on the seal it was installed with, and if it does'nt tighten then the nut has rounded off the plastic and is basically...

tighten it up if it leaks tighten some more, if you over tighten it could leak with no more room to tighten. Its better for a comp fitting to leak via undertightening (as you can tighten it up) than leaking from overtightening (as there is no where to go if youve gone mental! on it) Take...

I totally beleive in it and have seen with my own eyes (via a magnet) the crap that gets removed from such a process. But not really required for a new install , but defo for a dirty existing system (especially if going for a conventional to combi conversion).

get a new pressure gauge so that you know the exact pressure - it may be that theres no pressure at all. Whilst you wait for it to be fixed... if your brave enough open a hot tap and keep filling the system (regardless of what the gauge indicates) until the boiler fires then immediatly...
