I am about to have my bathroom done ... hopefully most items by myself. I am thinking of having an electric shower done as well so need to get an electrician in to : 1) upgrade my consumer unit and run cable of the electric shower, isolator switch ... 2) run extra cables into the loft for wall...

    Bathroom Tiling Advice

I was not sure if I should start a new thread or just piggy back on this one. I am about to replace the floor tiles in our bathroom. We have a couple of loose tile as well as broken ones. I Lifted one up and noticed that they had used cement based adhesive on top of the floorboard. Do I need...

Delux one coat vs normal Delux

I was hoping to rush through it in under 2 hours but likely I won't do a good job in that time so may settle for one room at a time over a few days.

Almost done. 2 Coats with Dulux Easycare. Skirts stand out dirty due to the new wall paint. I it's ok to just wipe down the skirts and just paint?. I don't have the knees and back to start sanding down wood!

Delux one coat vs normal Delux

I am just about to pain the whole house. I painted it almond white a few years ago with a delux paint. I will be painting with exact same almond white colour so was wondering if the one coat will truly same me a lot of time or it's just a marketing BS. I know its more expensive but I could do...

    Advice for dimly lit lounge

It's brighter but not significantly. Also One problem with these wilco bulbs is that are fine to the naked eye but they flicker when I am a video call on the computer. Only way to get round it was to reduce the fps on the camera.

I went into Wilko over the weekend and picked up a couple of bulbs. So settled with 120w equivalent warm white for the ceiling and a 100w warm white in an uplighter. Good lighting but may need another uplighter. The laptop is still rubbish for video calls even with the lights so looks a new...

    Advice for dimly lit lounge

Got it. However the downlight in the hall way do a perfect job of lighting up the walls, granted not the ceiling. I did purchase an uplighter lamp as mentioned earlier in the thread which lighted up the ceiling but did not do no much for the rest of the room. I remember seeing a halogen...

    Advice for dimly lit lounge

I have played around with a different lightings but still have issues, primarily because I am working from home atm and I need good lighting for video calls. I (and hopefully with blessings from SHMBO) have decided that we could do with ceiling downlight. Ceiling area is not 4 sides, almost...

Which Central heating pump should I buy?

mmm.... what a mess. I am assuming the new guy will want to do his work fully and not have to worry about shoddy work by previous plumber. From pics my sis sent me during build, I think whole area was filled with concrete. Could channeling not result in a crack all the way to the dpc ...

Some update on what has happened. The CH engineer that the builder sent Installed a new circulator Pump and came to conclusion that the new rads were not installed correctly. Still at planing stage but could do with building advice

We certainly want to move the boiler. The old kitchen/new Study could potentially double as a spare room if we have guests staying over. I have reached out to one builder so far ..... Are there write-ups about choosing builders, agreeing terms and payments ?......

Which Central heating pump should I buy?

The pipes are standard 15mm. I was going to put the new pump she bought myself but she said she would rather have the builder's man do it so just incase they blame it on me if it does not work. Hopefully they will turn up tomorrow
