    Immersion heater removal

@terryplumb , While still in the cylinder yesterday, I disconnected it from its original fused socket and wired it to standard 13 amp plug and it tripped as well. This ruled out any existing wiring problems. It was when I inspected the terminals that I realised there was a very thin film of...

    Immersion heater removal

I'll give the tightening approach a try on the box spanner, I can't see a 86mm slogging spanner. Just incase .... would a (cheap) blow torch work if the above method fails me?

    Immersion heater removal

Hi all, Our central heating broke down yesterday so while waiting for BG in next couple of days , I thought I'll use the immersion heater for hot water and that tripped the electrics instantly on connection. I had a look at the (top entry) immersion heater and notice a very tiny amount of water...

    TV Wall Bracket

Thanks guys. I received the rigifix over the weekend and mounted the tv bracket with 6 of them. Feels pretty solid on the wall, though decided not to hang off it since my bones are worth a lot more to me than the TV

    TV Wall Bracket

The ones in my picture above is 10X100 as well. I did mistakenly go though the thermalite on the only 1 hole I drilled. My guess is that only 80mm into the brick is required(assuming its that thick) since the remaining 20mm will account for the thickness of the Void and Plasterboard

    TV Wall Bracket

I drilled a pilot hole (with a wood drill bit) through the plasterboard thinking that the drill will stop once it hits the block behind so I can use proper masonry drill for the block behind. The wood drill bit just continued drilling all the way through (plasterboard & wall behind) without any...

My LG washing machine started leaking last week. I opened the back up and looks like a coin got in between the inner & outer drum. Long story short the the coin is still embedded in the outer drum with water leaking out. I have had the machine for 8 years and looks like I might be better off...

Advice needed for making TV stand from Birch plywood

Rather than getting MDF cuts, I took a chance and bought 21 mm birch ply already cut to my dimensions. The cuts looks almost perfect but I guess I would know on assembly. I have already done a very quick sanding with 240 grit and then done the biscuit joins. The Birch looks too bright for...
