    Roaming Profiles?

Sounds like you need to be telling the IT firm very clearly what you expect to acheive with the new network setup. You've already said you want to connect to all network printers, and user settings for MS Office to be portable across the network too. Any email use? Web browser use, favourites...

Monitor has pink pixel 1" bands a bit like tarten

Easiest thing it to connect a different monitor, one that you know works ok. If that shows the same symptoms then it's your graphics card. Since there are no moving parts on a graphics card (except for maybe a fan) it's less likely that it will have failed than the monitor. Howold is the...

MODEM OR MASTER SOCKET SERIOUS CONNECTION ISSUES, HELP !!

If the modem connects when you're on a voice call, it sounds like a filtering issue. Have you changed the micro-filter? Is everything still plugged into the test socket in your original master socket? Or the test socket in your new master socket? Or in the standard socket in your new master...

    External USB Hard Drive

Regarding ditching XP altogether, it's not always pratical to do that. I've got a dual boot (Win7 Ultimate / XP Pro) system, largely because of hardware that I can't find Win7 drivers for or software that's not supported by Win7. Hardware and software all work fine under XP, so why should I pay...

Dave.M, windows help and support problem?

Don't expect a fix too quickly, it's probably part of Microsoft's strategy to persuade more users to migrate to Windows 7.....

    software for cleaning up photos.

I'm sure that if you were planning to involve the police then you would have plastered your property with the obligatory signs telling everyone that they're being filmed..... Not sure if you can do it on this forum, but if you want you could email the photo to me and I'd have a go at cleaning...

    software for cleaning up photos.

Depends what exactly you're trying to "clean up". Given that it's a still from a CCTV film, there might be quite a bit of noise or speckling on the image. If that's the case you could try Noise Ninja (not free) or Noiseware Community Edition (free). I've used both and find that Noiseware CE does...

    Raised Beds

You know, I wondered about that too, but every "how-to" I read last year said that you should line the raised bed with DPC membrane. Well, they've lasted 1 year, we'll see how much further they go :)

    decking treatment

I ripped out my old decking last year, it had previously been painted with decking stain and, as others have said, it flaked and peeled. No way was I spending the summer on my hands and knees trying to get the stuff out of the ridges in the board so I could retreat it. So I ended up ripping it...

    Raised Beds

I built a couple of raised beds last year using decking board, painted them inside and out with fence paint and lined the sides with DPC membrane. Should last a few years I reckon.

Tiles around bath, pulled apart, cracked grout

Regarding the wall, I think it's breeze block, plastered over, in good condition as far as I can tell. And yes, the bath is fibre glass.

Tiles around bath, pulled apart, cracked grout

Thanks John, actually I resealed the bath earlier this year and none of the tiles came loose after I'd stripped the old sealant away, so I'm really not sure how they're held on! If they had come away I would have taken them out and reset them but decided to leave alone at the time (probably the...

    Floor tiling - how level?

Thanks (again!) John. When I say, I'm thinking of tiling my kitchen floor, what I really mean is we're haivng a new kitchen and I've had a number of people in to quote for the tiling.... However, the only person to mention that the floor isn't quite flat was a joiner - none of the...

Tiles around bath, pulled apart, cracked grout

Thanks John, can you recommend any such product? I guess that, if it's a silicone based product, it'll be applied using a bleb gun?

    Floor tiling - how level?

I'm probably going to tile my kitchen floor (not decided yet, but probably will). There's a concrete floor under the existing lino, but it feels as though there's a bit of unevenness in the floor level - not a lot, but a bit of a trough. Question is, how unlevel should it be before I need to put...

Tiles around bath, pulled apart, cracked grout

Morning all, First post.... My bathroom is fully tiled. I've noticed that the grout is cracked between the row of tiles that the bath silicon sealer is attached to and the row above. Obviously this only happens when someone is in the bath/shower, at rest it's all fine. Now, I've...
