    Just wondering if someone can clear up/give there opinion on codes for new regs? If lighting circuit dosnt have RCD protection for concealed cables would this be a code 4 or code 2? No RCD to circuits in Bathroom, code 4 or code 2 Cheers

    Can you use the same neutral which supplies the 24hr CU to supply a economy 7 CU by using a service connector block to split it? The CUs are not local to the service head so want to save time installing another neatral if possible

    When the DNO supply new PME supply, with DP Isolator do they leave access into earth terminal to connect earth or is that sealed? What is normal procedure/practice?

    Looked at some electrics today and noticed black residue on insulation of cables behind sockets sockets and switches, it wasnt all, but most of them. House had been stood empty for years but now someone is living there. Could this be insulation starting to melt???

    So is it best to bring boxes forward, or if plaster is completely between box leaving no gap is that ok?

When galv boxes where fitted, walls where just getting patched back in, now some bright spark has dot and dabbed the wall with further plasterboard meaning socket boxes are good 10-20mm too far back...
