On 30A Junction Boxes, they are 3 terminals. Two close together and one apart from the other two. What goes where? Does live n neutral go together and earth seperate, or doies it not matter?

The display which shows time, radio station etc seems to be hazzy and dosnt work on a morning, but by 3-4pm it is fine and can be read crystal clear. What could be causing this?

Car stopped working other day cos water had froze. Its now thawed out, i've topped up with antifreeze and bought a new battery. There was lots of water got into chambers were plug leads go onto plugs, but i've dried that out now, removed plugs, checked there are firing ok, which they are...

Engine now sounding like it wants to start but not. Took spark plug out and earthed it engine and it was sparking. so put back in and tried turning it over. It turns over ok, new battery, but dosnt start up. What can i test/do next?

SO John, do YOU use flying lead or not? Do Most sparks use them, or go with - if one side is fixed its ok???

When wiring up sockets, do you also have to earth the metal back box? Or is putting both earths into socket sufficient?

I poured hot water over rubber pipes when they froze, please read earlier post, so maybe water got onto plugs. Can i dry them off with hairdryer?

If the plugs are wet, whats best way to dry them, with hair dryer? Or is it a case of replace plugs n leads? Will spraying WD40 on help?

Think i'll just scrap it. Been after buying a van or estate car for while anyway, cheers

Dont know any1 with compression tester. How much would it cost for mobile mechanic to do? No water on dipstick. Only thing i've done to car is fill back up with water/anti-freeze, and put on a new battery. Cant get in to see if water in rad is oily, but water in expansion looks fine...

Sorry its a Rover 214, All water seems fine in pipes now, if you squeeze them it moves water in expansion tank. I've noticed the clock has reset to 1200 a few times, so maybe it is the battery. But why would it keeps resetting?

Can car be started by connecting battery charger to car battery then turn it over?

Yeah lights dim when try turning over. Is it best to jump off, or connect battrey charger to it?

How do i know if engine or gearbox are siezed? My car wont start, its had frozen water pipes but the defrosted now, but the starter motor clicks, but dosn't turn the engine over. IT sounds like its not fully engaging, like its clicking in then straight out. Any suggestions???
