I'm 57. Am I a 'boomer'? I've worked hard all my life, as did my parents and my grandparents. It's in the blood, and my son is cut from the same cloth. Forget your freebies. We sleep well in the knowledge that we've actually contributed to society.

Stats say that house ownership in China is over 90%. This is mind-blowing, until you dig a little deeper. It's illegal to own land in China, so house owners are literally just house owners... with a pathetic 50 year leasehold. After that, the government can kick them out. At least here in the...

Basically, we agree regarding PIP, but the idea that millionaire business owners are scroungers is for the birds. Many years ago, Colman's Mustard built homes and schools for their employees and their families. Essentially, this is still happening, but it's through taxation.

I think our economy would be bouncing if every physically able adult worked for 35 years. Start work at 16 or 18, or study until you're 24. Just do your 40 years and then retire. Every man and his dog are applying for PIP these days. There's even a pop-up ad for an autism quiz running on this...

New ISA rules apply from 2029. Until then, I'll just keep sticking pins into my Rachel Reeves voodoo doll.

Tradies used to be time-served apprentices with real skills and the vision to 'see' the finished job. Nowadays there are far too many young guns with sparkly new vans, all the gear... and no idea. I employed a young 'chippy' to build a dormer extension once. He told me he'd built 'about 7'...

why do people support Reform when they have no idea of their policies

Prejudices are justified when they are formed through lived experience. Then they are your instincts, which you should trust. £4k per month? My head has just exploded.

why do people support Reform when they have no idea of their policies

Then why do so many claimants sign off with their government-funded employment specialists as soon as they secure PIP? I'll tell you why; They get free money! They think it's a no-brainer, but ultimately it's deleterious and creates subhumanoid blobs whose epitaphs will read, 'They sat on a sofa'.

You'd expect to see the underside of the newel post in some designs. In this scenario I would expect to see a heavy central timber with the staircase built around it. Is there a valid reason for the placement of every timber, or have corners been cut in the name of economy? It's hard to tell...

why do people support Reform when they have no idea of their policies

But everyone can speak anecdotally about someone they know who is claiming benefits when they could be working, but we don't tend to 'shop' our family members or friends. When I was teaching, I got to know a gentleman who walked on crutches to pick his son up every day. I admired him for that...

why do people support Reform when they have no idea of their policies

I like the sound of these modern careers. I'm going be a pronoun shifting super grifter in my next life. It's going to be hard work of course, but I'm sure I'll be able to feel offended at least twice a month in the name of PIP... and live with my [probably] useless parents until I'm 50. Yeah, I...
