Upgrading mains feed from 15 to 22, how/who?

Oh, I don't think that running any cables will be possible. It's not, actually. Anyway. Took a closeup pic of the connector, I could not get in there but camera could! The OD is nominally 60mm. The white part is also similarly ribbed, although it's difficult to tell in the pic...

Upgrading mains feed from 15 to 22, how/who?

Fantastic, thanks, very helpful advice. So that's sorted then, the connection needs to be done by a plumber upon my instruction, I won't be contravening any regs. I assume that "radio pad signal run..." does mean wireless, not any physical cable? Any idea re that connector? Thanks...

Upgrading mains feed from 15 to 22, how/who?

He said meter/stopcock. Which is it? Stopcock in the street? Meter in the premises?

Upgrading mains feed from 15 to 22, how/who?

Many thanks for your reply, however the situation is ever so slightly complicated (in view of the advice you have provided) The three flats are unmetered (yet) and if they will be, they will be internally metered, well inwards past the "problem" area. (So theoretically making a lot of the new...

Upgrading mains feed from 15 to 22, how/who?

Block of 3 flats, one gf shop. All fed via 15mm copper, have replaced all plumbing and now running 22mm throughout, to within 2 feet of underground mains water supply, to which a temporary connection has been made (new 22 to the old 15mm stub remaining) The mains supply, type of pipe...

Intumescent strip width? Odd one perhaps

That sounds like a cunning plan... 8)

Intumescent strip width? Odd one perhaps

Yes very true, good point, I don't trust the self adhesive thing, when fitting I thought to myself that these don't really need any adhesive anyway the fit is so tight. In reality was just wondering whether the 15mm slot was made for 10mm strips due to the fact that they are such a tight fit...

Intumescent strip width? Odd one perhaps

Sorry misunderstanding, it's always hell painted or not. Question in OP still unanswered

Intumescent strip width? Odd one perhaps

Here goes. Door linings have a slot for the strips that seems to be precisely 15mm wide. But fitting a 15mm intumescent is hell, if the lining and slot are painted, nightmarish and close to impossible to not mangle the strip, the first set of doors I did I had to scrape out the paint from the...

    Pipe spacing for water meters?

Thanks Tony, yes do have isolating valves and drain cocks already, but best ask as I will be relocating the former - are there any specs as to whether the isolators need to be "before" the meters i.e. on the unmetered side, or after? I would prefer them to be before in case anything happens...

Loss of water pressure on manual gravity feed shower

I would imagine that there is an eventual temperature drop in the hot water supply, so to maintain the same temperature at the shower, the mixer thermostat reduces cold water flow... possibly shutting it off completely - so you only get a dribble.

    Pipe spacing for water meters?

The background - One building, 3 flats, previously just one common water supply (riser) feeding all flats. Have now separated all flats' supplies, to ground floor near-ceiling level. Hope to have meters installed inside building, extending separation of supplies to ground-floor floor...

Telephone extension, socket to socket - how?

Unfortunately your last statement is correct! It's not yet installed and the wall is finished. Other issue of course is direct-wiring the extension wire, apparently this is not allowed, which is where this all started from.

Telephone extension, socket to socket - how?

I think I understood this :D I can reverse-wire the wiring in either one of the "extension" socket boxes, so as to effectively cancel out the reverse-wiring in a standard lead... Is there a problem with line voltage? I mean, socket to phone set leads always have exposed plugs (they are...

Telephone extension, socket to socket - how?

Thanks for the input unfortunately either I have not explained myself well or I did not understand your post, either way my bad... By flush mount box I mean a plasterboard-type single electrical 3-pin socket outlet back box. And the new cable poking out of this hole. I am just...
