try this, on the left hand pipe from the heat exchanger you will see an overheat stat on a clip on the pipe remove it and lower it about level with the burner this normally fixes the problem good luck

tak a look at BBC WATCHDOG put in pott suprima and you may get a surprise potterton now do a fixed fee repair on this troublesome boiler good luck

the problem is that the domestic hot water heat exchanger has muck in it you will have to get it exchanged and possibly get the system flushed as the muck comes from the central heating circuit if you install a new boiler later this year you will need to get the system flushed for this anyway...

yes you can change the guts of the diverter it just a sring and valve body they swell and let by good luck

try changing the thermista in the boiler these cost about 12 quid and just push in with 2 wire spades on this may work as it should have been changed with the pcb and gas valve/ good luck

your problem could also be the air pressure switch breaking down for various reasons its a cheaper option but you are not allowed to fix it unless you are corgi registerd so you would be better off finding a gas engineer sorry

the prob could be the gas valve as they have had a problem when the pcb goes wrong it messes up the electrics in the gas valve have a look at BBC WATCHDOG potterton suprima you might get a supprise.

ideal do have a problem with boilers like yours as they fitted wrong washers in the boilers on a six week run 2 years ago and some of them have been leaking there response has been pretty poor to the problem so if it is leaking from the boiler it is probably the wrong o ring seals .good luck.

even if you have a one pipe system you can still put a combie on it with no problem as long as the system is powerflushed properly it should be ok the only prob is some older systems dont like being pressurised and may leak so it a good idea to check the condition of the rads and valves good luck

these boilers have a manufacturers fault go to BBC.WATCHDOG ,and enter potterton suprima you will get a nice surprise as potterton have now agrred to fix the problems, at cost.

check that you have water in the sytem look at the bar pressure gauge should be 1 to 1.5 bar when cold if there is no water in it it want work good luck, the gauge is on the boiler.

you say you have drained the system before so i assume that it filled up ok this being the case the fault is probably because you have magnatite or sludge in the down stairs rads if there is no drain cock you will have to drain each rad into a bowl then remove them to the garsen and wash them...

when you turn the tap on and it leaks is normal for this tap its a design fault.you are loosin pressure either because you have a water leak somewhere and then refiiling the system.or check outside is the prv pipe through the wall dripping if so the pressure vessel in the boiler may have ran out...

the problem is the pcb when you have fitted the new one you will see 6 little white pegs on the left of the pcb move 4 5 6 over to the left and it will be fine.
